Un comunicato emesso dal gruppo estremista operante in Nepal "Hindù Morcha Nepal” si scaglia contro la nuova costituzione introdotta di recente nel paese. Secondo i militanti di questo gruppo, la costituzione è stata imposta senza considerare il pensiero di tutti i gruppi e le culture del Nepal, e basata su una profonda influenza straniera (quindi troppo laica). Meno di 24 ore dopo l'approvazione degli articoli della costituzione riguardanti la religione (14 settembre scorso), 2 bombe sono esplose in prossimità di chiese evangeliche del distretto di Jhapa (Jyoti Church di Damak ed Emmanuel Church di Khajuragachi), e un altro ordigno è stato rinvenuto in una chiesa a Gauradaha (alcuni sospetti sono stati arrestati). Autori di questi attentati come di altri disordini sarebbe proprio Hindù Morcha Nepal, che, come dicevamo, ha poi emesso il succitato comunicato. In esso dichiarano che il Nepal dovrebbe essere dichiarato un regno indù e minacciano scioperi e manifestazioni. Nel secondo paragrafo del comunicato si dice chiaramente che il cristianesimo è il principale ostacolo all'unità religiosa della nazione e si rende pubblico l'inizio della loro missione di sradicare il cristianesimo dal Nepal e la loro richiesta ai cittadini del Nepal è di mantenere il paese libero dal cristianesimo. Hanno anche chiesto ai leader cristiani di lasciare il Nepal e coloro che hanno abbracciato il cristianesimo di tornare alla loro religione originale (cioè l'induismo).  "Hindù Morcha Nepal” è un gruppo formato da tanti piccoli partiti estremisti indù e può rappresentare una seria minaccia per le minoranze religiose in Nepal (soprattutto per i cristiani). Secondo gli esperti di diritti umani, la sentenza di Ali è una “esecuzione arbitraria”, proibita quindi dalla Convenzione Internazionale sui diritti dell’infanzia, visto che è stato incarcerato quando era ancora minorenne. Rivlin, a scion of a famous Jerusalem family, shared with the gathering his family’s personal story of their arrival in Jerusalem over 200 years ago.
